Tommy Robinson: Ex-EDL leader to appear in court in February charged with assault
Tommy Robinson is to appear in court after being charged with assault following allegations he attacked a man in the Peterborough area. The former leader of the English Defence League (EDL) – who launched the UK branch of European protest group Pegida last week – was arrested in August.
Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is alleged to have assaulted Saleh Jabir on 16 July 2015 by beating. He attended Luton Police Station on 13 January to be charged.
Robinson, 33, from Bedford, is to appear in Peterborough magistrates' court on 3 February.
