Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Leicester City: Mauricio Pochettino says Spurs deserved more
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino believes Spurs deserved more than a draw from their FA Cup third round match against Leicester City.
"It's true we are happy and very pleased to get the draw at the end. It's important for us to stay alive in the competition. But if we analyse, the first half, we deserved more. We dominated the whole game. But I'm happy. The performance was good. We have another chance," said Pochettino at a post-match press conference.
The replay adds to an already busy month for Spurs, but Pochettino believes his squad will show its strength in depth. The replay will be the third time the two teams play each other in the space of 10 days, after they meet for the second time in a league match up on 13 January.
"It is tough for us and tough for them [Leicester]," said Pochettino. "We need to be strong in our mind. We have a strong squad. Today showed that those not playing in the first team can fight for a place," he added.
Asked if his side were lucky to get a replay, Pochettino replied: "Lucky? No. You must never give up."
