Redknapp Aims To Beat Big Clubs To £10m Midfielder - Report
Tottenham transfer rumour: Kwadwo Asamoah is high on Harry Redknapp's wishlist
Reports are speculating that Tottenham are currently chasing Kwadwo Asamoah, and are planning an early summer swoop for the Udinese star as other clubs show interest.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has already revealed that he plans on building the squad significantly during the summer transfer window, though after the side lost their Champions League place to tournament winners Chelsea, it would appear to be much more of an uphill task with only Europa League football to offer incoming players.
But Tottenham are said to believe that if they move quickly for Asamoah, who has been a star in the Serie A and become a regular in the Ghana line-up, the midfielder may choose a move to north London over the likes of Manchester United and Juventus.
Sky Sports claim that the 23 year old is being watched very closely by Spurs, though he comes with a hefty price tag in the range of around £10 million.
And with Asamoah one of numerous targets for the club, Redknapp and Daniel Levy will be weighing up just how important the African will be to both Tottenham's short term and long term future.
The side are also currently looking at trying to keep Emmanuel Adebayor on side permanently, after the striker had a sensational season on loan for the club this season.
His wage bill will be particularly high, on account of coming from big spenders Manchester City, but today the Togo international said he hopes that the side can come to a deal for him to make White Hart Lane his home.
With that in mind, Redknapp and Levy will be particularly tight with money in the hopes of keeping Tottenham in the black, and without the much-needed revenue from Champions League football, which two seasons ago gave Spurs a £30m plus bonus in their account, players will be very closely monitored before the club makes any big investments.
