Transformers 5 plot will get inspiration from Star Wars and Marvel teases writer room's head Akiva Goldsman
Transformers 5 writers team is leaving no stone unturned to frame that perfect story describing the journey of Optimus Prime and his league of Autobots' who are trying to protect humans from the evil Decepticons.
Paramount Pictures has formed a writers team for the job and hired a bunch of extremely talented writers with Akiva Goldsman as the lead.
According the Goldsman, the writers room is planning to "establish a mythological timeline" for the live action thriller.
"We will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line. It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists," the writer of A Beautiful Mind told Deadline.
The upcoming movie will take a lot of inspiration from the Transformers toy series, robots and the visual artists.
While speaking with Deadline, the Academy Award winning writer also spoke about the idea behind getting together this team and how they were inspired by the teams behind Monsters Room and Stars Wars.
Goldsman also tells that his team of experts would "beg, borrow and steal" from the blockbuster franchises while framing the perfect script for the fifth instalment of the live-action movie series.
"I got a taste of this from JJ Abrams when I came in to write an episode of Fringe, and then Jeff Pinkner let me hang around for four years like the drunk uncle. The whole process of the story room was really delightful, and we are seeing it more in movies as this moves toward serialized storytelling. There are good rooms around town, including the Monsters Room at Universal, the Star Wars room, and of course, at Marvel. We're trying to beg, borrow and steal from the best of them, and gathered a group of folks interested in developing and broadening this franchise. "
According to Slash Films, the team's top priority will be to crack a story for the fifth sequel so that there'll be a script ready before Michael Bay finished direction his next project 13 Hours.
Paramount Picture hit gold with Age of Extinction, as the movie grossed over $1bn at the global box office globally.
However, the movie received harsh criticism for lack of script and by hiring such talented group of scribes, the movie production company is trying best to please critics and fans alike.
Transformers 5 will premiere in 2017.
