Twin Peaks trailer shows eerie wooded town for the first time in 25 years - but has it changed?
US drama is back on screens this month.
Twin Peaks is back on 21 May, and while we have no idea what David Lynch and Mark Frost have up their sleeve when we're transcended to the sleepy Washington logging town once again, a new trailer has provided us with a good tease.
The American television serial drama – which first premiered in 1990 – is back this month and includes many of the original cast members such as Kyle MacLachlan in the role of FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper.
Now, footage from the forthcoming 18-episode season shows location shots from the eponymous fictional town from the cult TV show for its big return after 25 years.
And Twin Peaks fans are in for a treat as the two-hour, two-episode premiere is set to air from 9pm on 21 May – and will be shown at the same time on Showtime in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK.
Ahead of the big night in three weeks' time, Showtime have released another teaser trailer from the new season, and the footage reveals a series of familiar locations to get fans excited. Some of the spots include the sheriff's department, the red curtained-room, the Double R Diner and Laura Palmer's house.
The setting looks pretty much exactly the same – without the expected addition of a Walmart sneakily plonked somewhere like most 21st century US towns.
What else do we know about the new season of Twin Peaks?
It was announced last month that two episodes from the new offering will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which runs from 18-28 May in southern France.
Other individuals from the cast and crew set to be starring in the series include MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne), Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer) and James Marshall (James Hurley), all of whom starred in a recent cover shoot for Entertainment Weekly.
Fans will no doubt want to know the fate of lovable eccentric Dale Cooper (MacLachlan) who was investigating the murder of local teen Laura Palmer in the eerie wooded town of Twin Peaks. Only time will tell in just a few weeks time...
