Two men arrested over burning body death in Salford
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was burnt to death in a tent in Salford. The man, identified as Daniel Smith, 23, believed to homeless, was found inside the tent under a railway bridge in Irwell Street in Ordsall.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue attended the fire at around 1.20am on 20 January. A post-mortem examination revealed the victim died of multiple injuries.
Two men, both 24, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are being held in custody for questioning.
The body of Daniel Smith, 23, was discovered by firefighters. He had been believed to have been sleeping rough for a number of years.
