Damian Hirst Artworks Stolen from Notting Hill Gallery
Two signed works of art Damian Hirst valued at more than £30,000 have been stolen form a gallery in west London, police have said.
The pieces, Pyronin Y and Oleoylsarcosine, were taken from the Exhibitionist Gallery, Notting Hill, in the early hours of the morning.
The pieces, which feature multi-coloured dots, were taken after a suspect forced his way through the front door drove the items away in a dark-coloured hatchback-type vehicle
Pyronin Y, the larger of the two stolen works, was created in 2005 and is worth £15,000. Oleoylsarcosine was created in 2008 and is worth £18,000.
Det sgt Jon Lightfoot, from Kensington and Chelsea Borough, said: "It appears the suspect has specifically targeted the two pieces. The items would have been visible in the back of the car and we are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to please come forward."
