Overview
Reigning champions Chelsea are featuring in the Champions League, meaning the Blues will not feature in the second tier of Europe's club competition. No English clubs made it to the last eight of the competition.
Tottenham Hotspur were knocked out of the competition by Benfica. The north London club suffered a 1-3 defeat at White Hart Lane in the first leg, earlier this month. In the return leg in Portugal, Tim Sherwood's side managed a 2-2 draw.
The White Hart Lane outfit went out of the Europa League after Benfica registered a 5-3 aggregate win over two legs. Italian champions Juventus made it to the last eight of the tournament, while their league rivals lost to FC Porto to make it to the quarter finals.
AZ Alkmaar, Lyon and Basel, along with Spanish clubs Valencia and Sevilla are the remaining teams to have qualified for the quarter finals of the Europa League. The first leg will be held on 3 April while the return leg will be held a week later on 10 April.
No teams are seeded and clubs from the same association can feature against each other from the quarter finals.
