UK: Police appeal for missing two-week-old baby 'hidden by mum'
Police are searching for a "vulnerable" newborn baby who they say has been 'hidden' by family members. by family members. It is thought the child's mother, who has been identified as Danielle Dawkins, and other relatives are concealing the two-week old boy to prevent him being taken into local authority care.
The boy was born on Saturday September 19 and was last seen on Wednesday in the Beckenham area of south London.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Yarranton, from Bromley CID said: "This is a vulnerable little boy who needs to be located as soon as possible. He has not been seen for a number of days and whilst we do not believe he has come to any harm it is of paramount importance that anyone who has any information as to his whereabouts contacts us immediately.
"I would like to make a direct appeal to those who may be hiding the baby, it may be the case that you think you are doing the right thing by helping his mother or it simply could be that you are not fully aware of the circumstances, but by concealing this child you could be committing an offence. I would urge anyone who has any information to get in contact with us."
The Met Police said there is nothing to suggest the baby has come to any harm but they are "concerned for his welfare and are keen to trace him as soon as possible".
Anyone with any information should call Bromley CID on 07818454470 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
