Overview
Djokovic had a comfortable third round clash against Sam Querrey last week as he won his previous fixture without any difficulty. The 27-year-old registered a straight set victory over the American to progress further in the ongoing Grand Slam event in the US.
The World No 1 defeated Querrey 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 and with that he got his third consecutive straight set victory in the final Grand Slam of the year. Djokovic would be hoping to extend the run on Monday at Louis Armstrong Stadium.
Meanwhile, Djokovic's fourth round opponent, Kohlschreiber had to defeat John Isner in the previous round of the US Open. The match ended in four sets, with the German tennis player losing the second set 4-6.
The remaining three sets were decided on a tie-breaker as Kohlschreiber won the first, third and the fourth set with the same scoreline of 7-6. He won the match 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6. So far the 30-year-old has dropped only one set, which came during the third round clash against the American.
