Vampire Diaries season 7 is all set to bring blood, romance and vengeance that would lead Mystic Fall to plummet into evil-filled darkness as Lily and her heretic family have seized the town. The first promo released by CW suggests that the city has plunged into complete chaos.

Lily brings her 'bloodthirsty family' to the Salvatore mansion, which irks Damon, who questions his mother's actions. "Are you gonna tell me who the hell you are bringing to our house," he asks his mother.

But it looks like his younger brother Stefan will convince him that the vampires and the heretics can still stay together as he has struck a deal with them."We don't mess with them, they don't mess with us," the younger Salvatore vampire tells his brother who answers him back saying 'bad idea'.

The trailer suggests that the brothers may remain in grave danger as Lily offers them 'motherly advice' over phone to run. From the beginning of season 6, the vampire mother has shown her immense love for the heretics whom she calls her family. Previously, there were hints from the show producers that she would try to create differences between her sons.

Meanwhile, Caroline rejects the so-called truce deal with the blood-thirsty lunatics and encourages Stefan to fight back. "Are we making a huge mistake handing over our town for a bunch of supernatural terrorists?" she asks him, to which the younger Salvatore brother answers: "Yeah, probably."

In the promo Stefan can also be seen making out with a girl who resembles Caroline suggesting lots of steamy Steroline moments in the upcoming season.

"There's constantly life and death stakes thrown at them, they're thrust together in a storyline," show producer Caroline Dries told TVGuide. "So as much as much as there's chaos around her, every time she looks at Stefan, she gets butterflies." She added that there may be "massacres here [and] bombs there," but "it's only a matter of time before it's like... 'You make me happy.' So, we'll see them get together soon."

The Vampire Diaries season 7 premieres on 8 October on the CW network.
