Victoria's Secret fashion show: Will Rihanna debut music from new album Anti on the runway?
It will be her first performance in months, so speculation is rife that Rihanna will debut music from her long-awaited new album during her performance at the Victoria's Secret fashion show later in 2015. Rumours emerged after the Diamonds singer was confirmed to hit the runway alongside the likes of Selena Gomez and The Weeknd.
Rihanna, 27, will appear as a musical guest at the prestigious show which is set to take place in New York on 8 December. The singer has been silently working on her new album, Anti, and fans are now hoping the performance could signal the release of the LP. One predicted via Twitter: "If Rihanna is performing at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show then the album will probably be out by Black Friday."
Another commented: "This will be a wonderful end of year! may Rihanna will release a new album, performance at #VSFashionShow, maybe another cover Magazine." Rihanna has a good relationship with the Victoria's Secret brand and last performed at the fashion show in 2012 alongside Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars. The pop star's setlist for the upcoming show has not been revealed but it is possible she will perform her most recent songs, including Bitch Better Have My Money and FourFiveSeconds.
Earlier in October, the Grammy-winning singer revealed the title and cover art for her eighth studio album, which was designed by artist Roy Nachum. Explaining her choice of designer, Rihanna said: "[Nachum] sees things beyond the surface, which is why we even decided to collaborate. I fell in love with him because I felt like there was another spirit, there was another layer to the art. After we met, we talked about what I wanted visually, what would make me the happiest girl in the world."
Rihanna released her last studio album, Unapologetic, in 2012, which spawned the singles Diamonds and Stay. Fans not able to attend the Victoria's Secret fashion show will be able to watch all the live action from the runway when it airs on CBS. The show ventured to London for its 2014 showcase but will return to New York for its 20th anniversary. Among the models confirmed to walk the runway are Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Lily Aldridge, Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima, while Bella Hadid has been rumoured.
