Vin Diesel praises Fast 8 co-star Dwayne Johnson amid feud rumours, says The Rock 'shined' as Hobbs
The Rock too shared an Instagram post where he thanked several Fast 8 actors but Diesel.
The controversial feud between Fast 8 co-stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson is taking a new turn each day. After "The Rock" slammed his Fast and Furious 8 male co-stars without naming anyone in particular, gossip website reports speculated that the former wrestler's rant was directed towards Diesel.
Following the social media rant, the duo even reportedly met up in Atlanta to sort out their differences before Johnson wrapped up his part in the action-packed movie's sequel.
However, the rumour mills were still abuzz with conflict speculations. Perhaps to shut the gossip mongers, Diesel took to Facebook live on Friday to share more details with his fans about the movie and the casting.
During the Facebook live stream event, the xXx: Return Of Xander Cage actor said, "Know this, without you, I would not be doing Fast 8." In the video, which was addressed to his huge fan-base on social media, Diesel further went on to explain why Johnson was offered the role of the now popular Agent Luke Hobbs.
"The reason we brought Dwayne Johnson into Fast 5 was because of you!" Diesel said in the live video adding, "There was a girl named Jan Kelly who said, 'I would love to see you work together on screen.' So the role that was originally written for Tommy Lee Jones, we gave it to Dwayne and he shined in it."
Having appreciated the wrestler-turned-actor, the 49-year-old actor even added a word of praise for franchise newcomer and celebrated British actress Helen Mirren.
"One of the best scenes I had in Fast 8 was working with Helen Mirren. It was so surreal. She's such a wonderful, wonderful talent. It was such a blessing," Diesel asserted.
Unfortunately, Diesel's feelings weren't reciprocated by Johnson, who took to Instagram on the same day to ignore his Fast 8 co-star in his thank you post. While "The Rock" had a kind word for the other actors of the movie – including Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, Tyrese Gibson, and the entire "Fast Family" – he didn't mention Diesel in the post.
Does this mean that the feud is still on for Johnson? Tell us in the comments below.
