Wales: Babies, horses and Wonder Woman compete in Llanwrtyd Wells mountain bike chariot race
Babies, horses and Wonder Woman have all taken part in the annual Llanwrtyd Wells mountain bike chariot race as part of the Saturnalia Beer Festival in Wales.
Teams in fancy dress took part in the three-mile (4km) World Championship race around the Abernant Lake hotel.
Veteran Rider Joel Hicks, from the Babies team, joked: "We have been training for many many months, and as you can see the guys behind me are physical specimens and really ready for this. We have been doing some altitude training in Peru ready for this one, so we are going at it all guns blazing."
The eventual winners were the Wild Mustangs, who beat the second-placed John Lloyd team by 10 seconds. Richard Wherlock from the team said: "We started off in fourth on the first corner and then on the last corner they left an opening and we took it – we saw it and went for it".
Wherlock, plus teammates Gwen Vonthron and Amy Gillon, made off with the trophy in the competition's eighth year. The race was part of the winter festival in Llanwrtyd Wells.
