The Walking Dead spinoff plot spoilers: Cobalt may narrate early days of the zombie epidemic in Los Angeles?
The series is likely to premiere in summer next year.
For those who are still not over the Walking Dead season 5 midseason finale, there is good news. Even as filming for The Walking Dead spinoff series will begin in early 2015, juicy spoilers have started to unfold.
According to recent reports, the spinoff show will be based in an urban environment as opposed to TWD's country-side base and will be filmed around Los Angeles.
TVLine reports that the series will be based in Los Angeles and AMC wants to explore unseen corners of the post apocalyptic world which is swarmed by zombies.
"Almost from the beginning of The Walking Dead [which is set in Atlanta], fans have been curious about what is going on in the zombie apocalypse in other parts of the world," AMC president Charlie Collier told the website in September.

There are reports that the spinoff series which may be named Cobalt, will unfold the event of the early days of the zombie epidemic and will feature a small number of survivor families along with a loner.
According to Fashion and Style, Cliff Curtis plays the character of a divorced teacher Sean Cabrera.
"His role will be that of a Latino male in his early 40's who is trying to do right by everyone in his life," the website added.
He and his son Cody will eventually meet with Nancy Thompson, a guidance counsellor, and her two teenage kids.
Frank Dillane of Harry Potter fame will play Nancy's teenage son Nick who is "too old to stay home, too scared to flee" and has battled a drug problem.
Alycia Debnam Carey will play Ashley, "Nancy's teenage daughter, whose ambition is in direct proportion to her older brother's failures."
The pilot episodes for the spinoff series of TWD is written by Robert Kirkman and Sons of Anarchy fame Dave Erickson. Adam Davidson will direct the upcoming series which is expected to be aired in summer 2015.
