Walsall murder: Pair arrested after man stabbed to death at Willenhall home
West Midlands Police have arrested a man and woman on suspicion of murder after a 56-year-old man was found stabbed to death at a home in Walsall.
Police were alerted by ambulance crew at 8.30pm on Monday (28 December) following the discovery in Walsall Street, Willenhall. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and a post mortem examination is expected to be carried out on Wednesday (30 December) to determine the precise cause of death.
West Midlands Police officers arrested a 37-year-old Walsall woman, of no fixed address, at 10.45pm in Ravenscroft Road, while a 49-year-old man was also arrested from a property in St Giles Road, Willenhall, in the early hours of Tuesday morning (29 December). Both are being held in police custody on suspicion of murder.
West Midlands Police Detective Inspector Jim Munro, said: "The body was discovered at 8.30pm following a call from a member of the public but we believe the man may have been dead for several hours.
"We've already spoken to many residents in Walsall Street but if anyone was in the area yesterday afternoon, and have not yet spoken to police, then I'd ask them to call me as soon as possible. It may be they saw or heard something suspicious, perhaps a disturbance or people leaving the scene, that could be important to the investigation."
