Castle returns with episode 12 of season 8 titled The Blame Game that airs on ABC on 22 February. While fans have seen a lot of ups and downs in Rick Castle and Kate Beckett's married life, seems like the upcoming episode will further test their love for each other.

As shown in the latest promo, the mystery novelist will be kidnapped once again, but this time he will not be left alone to be found by NYPD. In fact the kidnappers will use him as bait to blackmail his detective wife. What is more intriguing is that the thugs would ask Kate to solve puzzles to locate her husband.

The official synopsis of the episode reads as follows: Castle is captured and forced to work with strangers to solve deranged puzzles and mind games, while Beckett and the 12th Precinct must race against time to rescue Castle and catch a killer.

Meanwhile, the promo shows that Beckett manages to locate Rick, but the story does not end there. The couple then try to help other hostages to escape. Going by the sneak peek, it seems like even though Castle had his chance to leave, he decides to stay and rescue other hostages.

Moreover, his detective wife also joins him in his efforts. "I am not letting you stay here alone," Katic's charatcer tells Rick and pulls a liver that opens a door for the hostages to leave the building. It remains to be seen, whether the couple will be forced to play more mind games to find a killer, who appears to be a psychopath.
