Watch iZombie premiere on CW: Olivia turns into half zombie, survives on human brains
The premiere episode of iZombie, CW's latest thriller, which airs tonight promises to be interesting. It will narrate the story of a pretty young woman Olivia who turns into half a zombie after a bizarre turn of events.
The series brings some balance between murder mystery thrillers and the regular world of the walking dead. In iZombie, the show's antagonist discovers her new found powers after she physically transforms from being human, to becoming half a zombie.
In that state, she realises her powers and helps local investigators in solving murder mysteries.
The official synopsis of the CW thriller suggests that Olivia 'Liv' Moore's (Rose McIver's) survival depends on eating brains of dead people and upon doing so, she gets visions that eventually help in solving how the victims were killed.
The synopsis of the premiere episode it below: (via Comic Book)
Olivia "Liv" Moore (Rose McIver, "Masters of Sex," "Once Upon a Time") was a disciplined, over-achieving medical resident who had her life path completely mapped out...until she is turned into a zombie. Now stuck somewhere between half-alive and undead, Liv loses her drive and ambition. She breaks off her engagement with charming soul mate Major (Robert Buckley, "One Tree Hill"), fearful of infecting him with her condition. Liv transfers her medical residency to the city morgue in order to access the only form of sustenance left available to her – the only thing that allows her to maintain her humanity – brains. There are side effects to Liv's new diet: With each brain Liv consumes, she experiences "visions" – flashes of the corpse's memories – which often provide clues as to how they were killed. Her boss, the brilliant but eccentric Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli), encourages her to embrace this gift and to work with unproven homicide detective, Clive Babineaux, (Malcolm Goodwin, "True Blood"), to help solve these murders. In doing so, Liv finds a measure of peace, and a new sense of purpose in what her "life" has now become. David Anders also stars.
The series is based on Vertigo imprint, a popular comic series from the DC Comics and the premiere episode is directed by Rob Thomas and co-written by Diane Ruggiero-Wright. The show premieres on Tuesday 17 March.
