The premiere episode picked up from a flash-forwarded scene with Claire back in 1940s after disappearing for two years. She came clear about her situation and revealed to her husband Frank Randall that she was sucked back in time to the 1700s, where she eventually married Jamie Fraser and ended up in France. Also, she is pregnant with Jamie's baby.
However, it is not clear as to how Claire jumped back to her timeline. In the second half of the premiere episode, fans saw Jamie and Claire arriving in France in 1700 and trying to stop the Jacobite rebellion, which in the flash-forward scene we find out was not successful.
In a promo for the upcoming episode, Claire and Jamie are seen attending a French Ball. Claire says: "The Scottish rebellion can be plotted in a French brothel and perhaps it can be stopped at the French court."
Another promo for the episode shows Jamie getting a letter from Jared, who has secured him an important meeting with Prince Charles to discuss the political situation of Scottish clans.
