The Weeknd, Kate Bush and Kylie Minogue albums to help erase Black Friday from memory
IBTimes UK rounds up the best albums to look out for on 25 November.
While Black Friday sees shoppers on the hunt for the cheapest laptops and clothes, some things are worth paying full price for.
The Weeknd, Garth Brooks and Kylie Minogue are among the musicians set to release new music on Friday 25 November, making it the perfect day to update your playlist.
The Weeknd – Starbo
Perhaps the biggest music release on Black Friday will come from R'n'B singer The Weeknd, who is set to drop his anticipated third album Starboy. Featuring hit title track, Starboy also boasts a star-studded tracklist including Kendrick Lamar, Future, Daft Punk and Lana Del Rey. Starboy will mark The Weeknd's musical transition from his Beauty Behind The Madness era and comes accompanied by the short film Mania.
Garth Brooks – Gunslinger
A year after the release of Man Against Machine, the country music legend returns with Gunslinger. Speaking about the record, Brooks told ABC News: "It's so much fun, it's kind of a reflection of the live show because we've been out there for two years now. It's going to be high energy and high volume." Brooks has much to offer at the moment as the singer-songwriter will also release a duet album with his wife Trisha Yearwood in time for Christmas.
Kate Bush – Before The Dawn
Fans who watched Bush perform during her incredible residency at Hammersmith Apollo in 2014 can take a trip down memory lane with this release. The live album follows the setlist of the concerts and boasts 30 tracks, including some of Bush's most iconic songs such as Cloudbusting and Running Up That Hill. One of the three discs will also host a monologue from Bush entitled The Astronomer's Call.
Susan Boyle – A Wonderful World
It may be hard to believe, but the former Britain's Got Talent star is set to release her seventh album on Black Friday. Spanning 10 tracks, Boyle has put her own spin on Nat King Cole's When I Fall In Love while she has also teamed up with Michael Bolton on Somewhere Out There. Will Boyle be able to claim her fourth chart-topping album?
Kylie Minogue – Kylie Christmas: Snow Queen Edition
Leave it to Australian pop princess Minogue to spread some Christmas cheer. At an extensive 22 tracks, the latest edition of Kylie Christmas might just be one of her longest albums yet. With covers of Santa Baby, Winter Wonderland, Let It Snow and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, it is the perfect record to get you into the festive spirit.
