The Weeknd shares photo with girlfriend Bella Hadid holidaying in Japan
The Canadian singer rarely shares anything about the 19-year-old model on social media.
In a rare gesture, Canadian singer The Weeknd took to social media on Wednesday (5 October) to share a photo of himself with girlfriend Bella Hadid from their Japan trip. The Can't Feel My Face hit-maker, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, shared the photo of himself and the 19-year-old model, wherein they are posing in front of a mirror somewhere on the streets of Japan's Harajuku district.
In the photo, the 26-year-old singer can be seen wearing a blue velvet jacket, distressed jeans, face mask and sunglasses, while Hadid can be seen in a black bra top paired with camouflage printed trousers.
The Weeknd seldom talks about his relationship with Hadid, but during an interview with Rolling Stone in October 2015, the singer opened up about his romance with the model. He revealed that he initially just wanted to work with Hadid.
"I actually asked her to be on the artwork for Beauty Behind the Madness [The Weeknd's chart-topping studio album]. My motive was literally to work with her," he said, adding that when she declined, "I was like, 'All right, cool — we can meet up face-to-face'."
"It just kind of fell into my lap. If this had happened two years ago — well, she couldn't [Hadid was 16 years old]. But if I'd met someone two years ago, I probably would've fucked it up. But I'm more — how do I say it? — clear-thinking now," he added.
In August, Hadid spoke to Glamour magazine and gushed about falling in love with the Grammy award winner.
"I'm dating Abel. I don't see him as The Weeknd. I'm proud of The Weeknd and the music he makes, but I really love Abel," she said.
Hadid and The Weeknd started dating in April 2015.
