The Weeknd's new mustache sends Twitter into major meltdown

The Weeknd or Abel Makkonen Tesfaye or has a new look and the fans can't get enough of it. The singer debuted the new look at the Toronto Independent Film Festival on Monday, and he is trending since then on Twitter. He attended the film festival for the premiere of his new film, "Uncut Gems".

Once upon a time, the 29-year-old Abel Tesfaye was identified by his trademark Jean-Michel Basquiat-inspired freeform locks. After parting ways with the locks, the singer stuck to tapered Afro haircut for a long time.

However, The Weeknd surprised everyone on the red carpet with a horseshoe mustache, an unkempt beard and a larger angular Afro for hairstyle, according to Paper magazine. The artist donned a crisp navy suit to finish the look.

The Starboy's makeover has been making headlines since then. Twitter meanwhile, is filled with posts praising the singer. Besides, there are also several memes doing the rounds too.

The Grammy-winner is seemingly ready for a fresh start, over a month after his reported breakup with model Bella Hadid. According to reports, the couple might get back together in future.

"The couple ended up getting back together earlier in June 2018, after breaking up about two years before that. It looks like they might even still get back together in the future," reports E! News.

On the professional front, The Weeknd was at the Toronto International Film Festival for the Uncut Gems premiere, which marks his debut into feature film. However, reports say everything is not well in the artist's professional life.

"Stans haven't been fed a new album since the 2016 chart-topper, Starboy (aside from My Dear Melancholy EP in 2018). Rumours are swirling about the follow-up, but nothing has been officially released or leaked, and The Weeknd has deleted his Instagram," reports Paper.

The Weeknd has done a cameo in the "Uncut Gems". He shares a scene with Fox that involves them getting intimate in a bathroom stall at a nightclub, reports The Variety.
