West Ham boss Slaven Bilic provides injury update on Andy Carroll ahead of Tottenham showdown

West Ham United will make a late decision on whether Andy Carroll is ready to come back from injury to assist in ending Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League title hopes.

The Hammers welcome their cross-city rivals to the London Stadium on Friday (5 May) having all but secured their Premier League status for another season. Mauricio Pochettino's side meanwhile remain four points behind league leaders Chelsea with four games of the season remaining.

Putting a final dent in Tottenham's title hopes would be an added bonus for West Ham, who might have Carroll available once again to help deliver a potentially knockout blow.

The 28-year-old has missed his last side's two games, goalless draws against Stoke City and Everton, due to a groin problem, but trained on Thursday, along with Arthur Masuaku.

"Masuaku got a kick. Nothing is broken but it is a bit swollen," Hammers boss Slaven Bilic told reporters. "The same with Andy Carroll. He will train today and we will see if he is available. It is the same as before Stoke."

Ahead of a crucial game, Bilic was reluctant to discuss much else when addressing the press, batting away speculation linking the club with a move for Jermain Defoe, who can reportedly leave Sunderland on a free following the Black Cats' relegation from the Premier League.

"Now is not the time to talk about transfers," Bilic said when asked about Defoe's potential return to the club. "We are talking about them with the scouts and the board. It is not time to talk about Tottenham."

Bilic's own future has also come under scrutiny following reports the Croatian will not be offered a new deal to carry on in east London.

"It is not the time to talk about it. It is not about individuals it is about the club. I am calm and focused on the next game. I don't know, the only thing I am thinking about is the game against Spurs."
