A thriller at Upton Park comes to an end. After falling 2-0 behind, West Ham stormed back with Andy Carroll scoring an eight-minute hat-trick to put his side ahead before Laurent Koscielny pulled one back.

A point isn't good enough for Arsenal who remain 10 points behind Leicester City having played a game more. West Ham move to within two points of fourth placed Manchester City, but that gap could be six points by the end of the day.

FULL TIME: West Ham United 3-3 Arsenal

Reid does everything he can to stop Alexis Sanchez breaking away from him on the edge of his own half, including three attempts to foul him. It wasn't as if he had any another choice. The free kick is given, but somehow, there is no yellow card.

Three minutes of time added on here.

Just a minute of normal time remaining, everyone out there is looking a bit knackered now; the energy levels in this game have been incredible.

Another Arsenal change, Theo Walcott comes onto replace Welbeck.

Chances at both ends in the space of 30 seconds. Alexis dances through the West Ham defence, jinking into the six yard area and opening up space of the shot. He takes an age, and instead of going for goal, instead decides to cut back inside, running straight into two West Ham defenders. Immediately West Ham pounce on the counter. Payet drives towards the edge of the box and has Carroll making a darting run to his left, but the Frenchman's through ball is overhit.

Koscielny's goal has levelled a thrilling contest here. With 10 minutes left, what's next?

Cresswell tries a hopeful shot from 25 yards out and it bounces up aggressively right in front of Ospina, who does well to batter it away.

This game is chaos at the minute. Payet has moved over to the left and is causing havoc. His dancing run into the box allows him to cut back to Antonio, but he can't sort his feet out in time to get a strike away.

Payet tries a curler cutting in from the left and draws a fairly decent save out of Ospina, who leapt down to his near post to make the block.

Arsenal are level! West Ham fall asleep and Koscielny is able to play a neat one two with Welbeck on the edge of the six yard area and the centre half is free on the return to hammer into the roof of the net.

Goal! West Ham United 3-3 Arsenal (Laurent Koscielny, 70)

What a block from Lanzini! An Arsenal corner breaks to Ramsey who drives one towards the bottom corner but the Argentine is back on the line to clear.

Arsenal need to go for this, Arsene Wenger has brought on Olivier Giroud to provide more fire power. He replaces Elneny.

Alexis Sanchez has a split second opening in the West Ham box but an excellent challenge from Tomkins nicks the ball away from him.

Payet wins a free kick out on the right and takes it himself, swinging one in towards the far post. It's a fairly easy catch for Ospina, however.

Arsenal are looking to Aaron Ramsey for some inspiration, he comes onto replace Coquelin in midfield.

Arsenal will be 11 points behind Leicester City having played a game more, unless they can turn things around here. West Ham look the more likely to score next, however, Arsene Wenger's side are terrified every time a cross comes into the box.

West Ham close to a fourth! Payet whips an absolutely superb ball in from the right that just evades Antonio near the post. Carroll follows it up but can't get any control on the ball and lifts one over the bar.

Carroll has a hat-trick! What a comeback from West Ham. Antonio does brilliantly down the right and digs out a superb cross for the backpost. He easily beats his marker and his header takes a slight nick of Gabriel before finding the back of the net. An eight minute hat-trick from Carroll, incredible.

Goal! West Ham United 3-2 Arsenal (Andy Carroll, 51)

West Ham have ball in the net again! Koscielny gets in front of Carroll and tries to prod the ball back to Ospina, but Payet nips in and slots it underneath the goalkeeper! Carroll however was all over the Arsenal defender there, hauling him down in the process. Good call from the ref.

Gabriel is left in a heap following an aerial challenge with Carroll. The West Ham striker is already booked, but escapes picking up another one, despite his elbow catching the Arsenal defending square in the mush.

And Arsenal get us back underway for the second half.

Two goals in three minutes from Andy Carroll has changed the face of this game. Arsenal were cruising prior to that, with the excellent Alex Iwobi laying on goals for Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. But it all turned sour at the end. Not that we mind at all, four goals in 45 minutes, more of that please.

HALF TIME: West Ham United 2-2 Arsenal

West Ham are level! This time the ball comes in from the right, which Carroll takes down on his chest with Arsenal's backline slow to step up. He misses the ball completely on his first attempt, but has the time and space to have another go, lashing a half volley on goal that takes a deflection of Gabriel en route to finding the corner of the net.

Goal! West Ham United 2-2 Arsenal (Andy Carroll, 45+2)

Arsenal race down the other end and immediately try to restore their two goal lead. Monreal is freed down the inside left but his shot, or cross across goal, is well blocked by Adrian.

West Ham pull one back! After missing the target with a header moments ago, this time he meets it perfectly. Cresswell's cross is an excellent one, and the big striker breaks away from his marker to nod home.

Goal! West Ham 1-2 Arsenal (Andy Carroll, 44)

Noble goes down a bit too easily in the box, handling the box he's so expectant of the free kick. It doesn't come and somehow, play is waved on. The ball is eventually worked back into Carroll but his header doesn't have the power on it to trouble Ospina.

Welbeck is freed down the inside left channel, with Iwobi again producing the pass. Antonio keeps up with the Arsenal forward, however, and wins a goal kick for his side.

Carroll receives the ball with his back to goal from Lanzini and manages to hold off Koscielny, allowing him to turn and shoot across goal. His low effort produces a decent stop from Ospina, who gathers the ball at the second time of asking with Payet lurking.

Sublime team goal from Arsenal. After some smooth passing from back to front, Coquelin slips a ball in for Iwobi whose brilliant first touch gives him the space to clip a fine through ball over for Sanchez, who has cut in from the left. He keeps his composure and slots the ball expertly past Adrian. West Ham were lost there.

Goal! West Ham United 0-2 Arsenal (Alexis Sanchez, 35)

From a corner, Payet floats one out to the edge of the box with Lanzini looking to meet it with a volley, Paul Scholes vs Bradford style. He doesn't get the right connection, however, and screws his effort wide.

Ozil and Iwobi swap passes before the latter slides in Sanchez. The Chilean works the ball onto his right foot, looking for a yard of space to shoot, but his effort in the end is a tame on and Adrian collects.

Payet has the chance to lift another cross into the box but again it doesn't trouble Arsenal too much, with Ospina charging out to comfortably collect.

West Ham fans scream for hand ball as Noble's dinked pass is blocked by the arm of Monreal. No foul is given. Craig Pawson isn't winning the hearts of any Hammers fans today.

Payet stands over a free kick, but at over 40 yards out, this one might be a bit too tricky even for him. Instead, he floats one into the box that is nutted clear by Koscielny.

On Lanzini's disallowed goal, Hector Bellerin was slow to step up as Carroll diverted the ball back across goal. Both Lanzini and Kouyate were onside as the ball came in, Slaven Bilic will be right to feel a bit miffed with that decision.

Arsenal have the lead! It's a lovely finish from Mesut Ozil just inside the box. Coquelin slots the ball into the path of Iwobi who slides a perfectly timed ball through for the German, who sides it under the onrushing Adrian. Fine Arsenal goal, but West Ham won't be happy, replays show their disallowed goal a few moments ago was perfectly legit.

Goal! West Ham United 0-1 Arsenal (Mesut Ozil, 17)

Tomkins dashes across to knock the ball away from Welbeck following a clever ball in from Sanchez. Alert defending from the returning Hammer.

West Ham have the ball in the back of the net! It won't count though, the offside flag is once again raised. Payet feeds a ball out to Noble on the left and clips a wonderful outside-of-the-boot cross into the box. Carroll goes for an overhead kick, not getting the right connection but manages to knock it onto Lanzini who converts from close range, but the Argentine was stood ahead of his man.

Andy Carroll is walking a tightrope now after that ugly challenge on Laurent Koscielny.

Arsenal lurch forward as Elneny drives through the middle with options left and right of him. He opts for Ozil, but the Germany international lingers on the ball and West Ham clear for a corner, which is cleared.

There is an early yellow card out for Andy Carroll; he takes one swipe at Koscielny, misses him, and goes in for another that leaves the Frenchman on the floor in agony clutching his ankle. A really ugly challenge from Carroll.

Almost a perfect start for West Ham! A cross from the right falls to Cresswell who has made his way into the box and his miss hit volley falls kindly for Lanzini, but he can't direct his header on target. To spare his blushes, the offside flag is up.

And West Ham get us underway,

We are minutes away from kick off at Upton Park, the final meeting between two London clubs at the old stadium.

#ArsenalTwitter can be a very dark place at times and predictably, Petr Cech's omission has not gone down too well.

A win for West Ham this afternoon will again see them leapfrog Manchester United into fifth place. Louis van Gaal's side are not in action until Sunday, taking on Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Strange one form Arsene Wenger, then. Petr Cech is deemed fit enough to return to the bench with David Ospina retaining his spot in goal.

BREAKING: Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny continue in midfield for Arsenal while Alex Iwobi also featured. Danny Welbeck leads the attack ahead of Olivier Giroud and Petr Cech returns... but only to the bench.

He won't be in the squad today, but Jack Wilshere has stepped up his return after making an appearance for Arsenal's Under-21s last night. The 24-year-old, who has had a week to forget off the pitcg, played 65 minutes in a 3-1 win over Newcastle United. He told Arsenal's official website after the match:

I have said before I want to go to the Euros and I know that I have to get back into the Arsenal team. I have to persuade the England manager and Arsène Wenger that I should play.

"I felt good. It is nice to be back at Emirates Stadium and play my first game. I know that I'm not there yet, not quite ready to play in the first team but it is another step closer to my fitness. "You can train as much as you want, but the toughest thing is getting competition ready with the players and this all helps.

While West Ham vs Arsenal hardly qualifies as a derby, today's meeting is the last between two London clubs at Upton Park before the Hammers depart for the Olympic Stadium this summer.

Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Yaya Toure, Zlatan Ibrahimovic... any talented footballer, really. You name them, Arsene Wenger thought about signing them once upon a time. Dimitri Payet is no different.

I have known him for a long, long time. When he played at St Etienne, he was there for a few years and we watched him many times. He has all the attributes to be a top, top player and he is that. He is 29-years-old already, but this season he has matured a lot as he has come back into the national team when he looked to be out. That shows he has been much more consistent. He has always had top talent, even when in periods he has been a bit up and down.

Team news: Arsenal

Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini are in line to return after recovering from respective thigh and hamstring problems. Alex Ox;ade-Chamberlain is still not ready for a first-team return, either are Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky, who had a run out for the Under-21s on Friday night.

Team news: West Ham United

Slaven Bilic has an almost fully fit squad to choose from after Cheikhou Kouyate's red card shown last week against Crystal Palace was rescinded. Sam Bryam and James Collins remain sidelined.

Collins has missed the last three Premier League games against Everton, Chelsea and Palace after he picked up an injury during the 1-0 victory over Tottenham on 2 March. Byram, meanwhile, hasn't appeared in the first-team since late February.

.We are good in that department at the moment. There is only James Collins and Sam Byram, who haven't trained with us for a few weeks now. Both are going to train with us tomorrow, but of course it is too early for them to be in the squad on Saturday, but they are coming back before the end of the season.

Already this season, West Ham have dismissed Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool at home, can they add Arsenal to that list today? The Gunners travel to Upton Park for the last time with their hopes of closing the gap on league leaders Leicester City growing fainter and fainter. Three points today will lift them back to within eight of the Foxes; anything less and their title hopes are gone.

West Ham meanwhile have their eye on closing the gap on the Gunners. They sit just seven points behind Arsene Wenger's side, three behind fourth placed Manchester City. Their own Champions League hopes remain very much alive with seven games of the season remaining.
