Overview
After a turmoil between the West Indies cricket board and players, the Caribbean side come into the World Cup not as favourites to win the tournament. They will be led by new captain Jason Holder, who will have to inspire his men if they have any hope of qualifying for the next round.
The opening game against Ireland is a tricky fixture, who have managed to seal upsets in the last two World Cups. In 2007, they knocked out Pakistan out of the group stages, while a win over England in the 2011 World Cup in India was another massive upset.
William Porterfield and his side will be looking for another upset when Ireland take on Group B opponents West Indies on Monday.

What captains say
Jason Holder (West Indies): "We had a series against them and it was pretty good for us. We've seen a few of the players over the years and are not to be underestimated but we are very confident. We are upbeat and ready to go."
William Porterfield (Ireland): "Phil's experience and knowledge of the game is great to have, he knows quite a few of the West Indies players as well but with all the videos around everyone already knows everyone. Phil just adds an extra touch."
