Overview

The fixture on Sunday will not have any impact on the UAE as they are already out of the World Cup after failing to win a single match in the group stages. They will be looking for a win over the West Indies on Sunday.

The Caribbean side suffered a defeat at the hands of India in their last ODI when the reigning world champions scored 185 runs for the loss of six wickets after the West Indies were bowled out for 182.

The latest result has seen Jason Holder's side sit fifth in Group B with four points from five matches, two points behind third placed Pakistan and fourth placed Ireland, who face each other in the second match on Sunday.

For the West Indies to qualify for the quarter finals, they will have to win the clash against the Asian side. A defeat against the UAE will see Ireland and Pakistan qualify for the knockout, irrespective of the result.

On the other hand, a win for the West Indies and a defeat for Ireland against Pakistan will bring an end to Ireland's World Cup dream. However, a victory for Ireland will see the team with the better Net Run Rate between West Indies and Pakistan making it to the quarter finals.
