Where to watch the best New Year 2017 fireworks in London, Sydney, Dubai and more
Ring in 2017 with a bang.
London
Although tickets for the annual fireworks display over the River Thames sold out earlier this year, you can watch the action from various elevated points across the city, including Greenwich Park, Hilly Fields in Lewisham and Hampstead Heath.
If you don't fancy standing around in the cold for hours to get a good view, you can watch the display from the comfort of your own home thanks to the BBC. For the very first time, the BBC will provide a 360-degree panoramic view of the fireworks online, as well as showing the action on BBC One.
Edinburgh
The city's famous Hogmanay fireworks will kick off from 9pm on New Year's Eve, with displays on the hour every hour until midnight, when the famous Midnight Moment will light up the Scottish capital from Edinburgh Castle and Calton Hill.
Visit the Hogmanay website to see the full line-up of events taking place during the three-day festival, including a street party and an "old town ceilidh".
Sydney
More than a million people are expected to turn up to watch the spectacular New Year's Eve fireworks over Sydney Harbour, which will be the biggest the city has ever seen with more than seven tonnes of pyrotechnics lit at midnight.
Fireworks will be lit from seven barges and from the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge during the 12-minute display. The whole event will livestreamed on Facebook.
Dubai
Two years ago, Dubai broke the world record for the largest and longest fireworks display, and plans are underway to make the 2016 event even more exciting. The world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa will light up with a spectacular fireworks display, in typically ostentatious Dubai fashion.
You can watch the fireworks in Dubai on New Year's Eve on YouTube, where the event will be livestreamed.
Las Vegas
More than 80,000 rockets will be launched from the rooftops of seven resorts in a dazzling display over Las Vegas, including Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood Resort, MGM Grand, Aria, Treasure Island, The Venetian and Stratosphere.
Rio de Janeiro
Around two million visitors flock to Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro where New Year's Eve celebrations begin around 8pm with live music, dancing and beach parties. A fireworks display will light the skies over the city at midnight, to ring in 2017 with a bang.
