Why Europe's Job market is Growing as Young People Struggle to Find Work
Job creation across Europe is accelerating as employers look to recruit more and more staff, according to the chief of one of the continent's biggest job sites.
Tony Roy, who heads CareerBuilder's European operations, told IBTimes UK that employment activity across Europe has really picked up over the last two years.
"We have people who are advertising at a more consistent and faster pace than they have in the last couple of years," Roy explained.
"When you look in UK there's several areas where we've seen accelerated growth for us."
The executive also said that the healthcare and energy sectors in the UK and Europe are "really taking off".
"The demand is increasing here and globally," Roy said. "And because the UK has historically had a lot of skilled labour in those industries you see more and more people looking here."
The comments come after the Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed that the number of people in work in the UK recently hit a record high, with more than 30 million people now in employment.
