Will Doctor Strange appear in Thor: Ragnarok? New set photos suggest he might
Chris Hemsworth can be seen behind-the-scenes holding a card with Strange's address on it. Will he be looking for him?
Thor: Ragnarok has been filming in Queensland, Australia for a good few weeks now and cast members Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Mark Ruffalo have been more than forthcoming when it comes to sharing behind-the-scene snaps. However, as every cinemagoer knows, the juicy stuff isn't necessarily in the photographs the cast and crew want you to see, but rather the paparazzi shots of them on set...
In a recent image, eagle-eyed fans (ie. people with really good mobile-phone zoom capability) zoned in on a piece of paper held by Hemsworth with the address '177a Bleecker St' on it. Readers of the Marvel Comics will recognise the address immediately as that of Stephen Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum.
Now, it could be that Strange might just be mentioned in Ragnarok but the fact that Thor has his address suggests that he's looking for him... And considering he's an Asgardian God, we'd hedge a bet that he finds him.
Alternatively, the size of the paper looks a little like a business card, which could indicate that Thor has already encountered Strange before this take and that the Sorcerer Supreme has left him his 'details.' You know, just in case...
Considering he'll be officially inducted into the Marvel Cinematic Universe come October 2016, that Benedict Cumberbatch might appear as Strange in Thor: Ragnarok the following year certainly ties in with the studio's previous methods of linking their movies together.
Just a few days ago, it was revealed that seemingly separate superhero team, the Guardians Of The Galaxy, will show up alongside the likes of Black Widow, Iron Man and Captain America in upcoming sequel Avengers: Infinity War.
Directed by Hunt For The Wilderpeople's Taika Waititi and also starring Tessa Thompson, Idris Elba, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum and Cate Blanchett, Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to reach UK cinemas on 27 October 2017. It will be seen on US big screens a little later on 3 November.
