Will Goldberg make his WWE return at Clash of Champions?
Clash of Champions will be held on 25 September.
Rumours about Bill Goldberg's return to the WWE have been doing the rounds for some months. Now, the former WCW and WWE champion himself added more suspense to the talks when he appeared for Submission Radio interview to promote the WWE 2K17 video game.
When asked what he thought about squaring off against Brock Lesnar, 49-year-old wrestler said: "Brock knows where the gym is, Brock knows where I live, and I'm not contractually bound to any deal with the WWE. So I have no business being around anything they're doing right now and it's purely by coincidence. But hey, I could get a phone call from now and then. You never know."
Interestingly, the rumours have spiralled as Goldberg will be in Indianapolis, where the upcoming Clash of Champions pay-per-view (PPV) will be held on 25 September.
According to Eventbrite, Goldberg will take part in the Eric Bischoff Live on Wrestling podcast in front of a live audience from 11am until 3pm at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis. And, this has fuelled speculations that the former WWE superstar could get to the arena to make an appearance as the event kicks off at 7pm.
Previously, Goldberg had hinted that he might just make a WWE return with a fight against Brock Lesnar, who he fought against at WrestleMania 20 before he retired in 2004.
"Over the 11th when the video game comes out I'll be kicking everybody's ass on the roster for sure but you look at me I'm 49 years old man leave it to the young guys to go out there and do their thing I mean more imagine here and more hanging out with Simon and trying to just continually stay in shape," the wrestler said during the interview with Fanatics View Originals.
"No matter how old I am and you never say never but I mean it's getting close to that clock kind of stopping on me but I mean you know you never seen we need one more in may," he said.
"I don't know, can I still do this? Man, I still can do it at 49. Brock, you're next," Goldberg said as he ripped a t-shirt with the Beast Incarnate's name on it.
