Will Rio Olympics star Simone Biles compete in Dancing With The Stars season 23?
Dancing With the Stars season 23 premieres on ABC on September 12.
Simone Biles, who won four gold medals at the Rio 2016 Olympics, might compete in the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars. If rumours are to be believed ABC is eyeing to cast Biles in the upcoming season of their dance reality show.
According to a report by Us Weekly, the show producers want to star the gymnastics champion in season 23 of DWTS. The report further asserts that Biles is also among the top picks for this year's set of chosen Olympians to show off their footwork in the ABC show.
"They would love to cast some Olympians if possible," a source told the magazine. However, the news should be taken with a pinch of salt as the network hasn't officially confirmed anything.
But, given a chance, it seems that the teenage artistic gymnast will be more than thrilled to shake a leg with other celebrity dancers on the show.
"I think Dancing With the Stars would be so cool!" she had previously told the magazine adding, "I can't dance, but that's what it's for. I don't know — we'll be so busy, we have tour, and if that happens, and I can do it, that would be amazing."
Busy schedules and time indeed seems to be a major constraint with the casting of the Olympians on the celebrity dancing series. DWTS casting director Deena Katz too shed some light on the casting for the upcoming season of the ABC series.
"I've talked to a lot of Olympians but, unfortunately for them, I can't really lock someone in so it's kind of like putting that call out and then they're all just waiting. And yet, they're a little busy right now, too. So it's this thing of, 'Okay, I've talked to you, you guys are great, now let's wait and see what happens,'" she said.
Dancing With the Stars returns with season 23 on Monday, September 12, at 8pm EST on ABC.
