Woman shot by police in London terror raid discharged from hospital and arrested

Six other people were also arrested as part of the ongoing counter terrorism investigation.

Metropolitan Police have arrested a 21-year-old woman on terror charges following her discharge from hospital. The woman was shot during a raid at an address on Harlesden Road, Kensal Rise, in north-west London on Thursday (April 27) as part of what the Met called an "ongoing counterterrorism investigation."

The raid was carried out by armed officers at around 7am on Thursday (27 April) in Willesden as part of an intelligence-led operation. After the woman was shot, she was taken to hospital under police guard though due to the nature of her injuries, which were described at the time as "serious", the woman had not been arrested at the time.

A further six arrests were made in connection with the raid, on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorist acts under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000. The police said on Sunday the six arrested remain in police custody at a South London station, having been granted further detention of the suspects until between 2 May and 4 May.

In addition to the 21-year-old woman on Sunday, a 20-year-old and 28-year-old women were arrested on Thursday at the North London address, as well as a 43-year-old woman in Kent. A 21-year-old, later named as Mohamed Amoudi, 28-year-old and 16-year-old men were also arrested.

Speaking earlier in the week, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, Senior National Co-ordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing, urged the public to remain calm. He said:"Due to the arrests made, I believe we have contained the threats that they posed.

"With the attack in Westminster on 22 March so fresh in people's minds, I would like to reassure everyone that across the country officers are working around the clock to identify those people who intend to commit acts of terror."

Basu added that the public should still remain vigilant. He said: "Please continue to let us know of any suspicions or concerns you may have. No call is ever a waste of our time and every call is treated seriously and confidentially, and investigated."
