The custom designed limited edition model is on offer for £2.3m from Goldgenie.
Goldgenie trades on the popularity of its products with celebrities. It is said to count Usain Bolt, David Beckham, P Diddy and Chris Brown among its customers. Corporate clients include Lexus, Honda, Toyota and Nokia, while its retail partners include Selfridges.
The company was set up by Laban Roomes in 1995.
Roomes appeared on the BBC programme Dragon's Den" and secured funding from James Caan.
Of the "Diamond Ecstasy iPhone", Roomes states: "I'd say it's worth as much as a small island. Of course, we all know that diamonds, just like islands, come in all shapes and sizes and the cost of the Diamond Ecstasy ranges from £10,000 to anything up to £2.3m for the inclusion of large rarer diamonds and even beyond. This phone, unlike an island, however, should never leave you stranded."
The Diamond Ecstasy iPhone can be customised further, according to the buyer's wishes. There is a choice of gold, platinum or rose-gold finishes, as well as using individually sourced gemstones. A laser-embedded slogan or name can be added.
Goldgenie also sells gold-plated Apple iPads and Blackberrys, as well as a men's racing bicycle coated in 24-carat gold. Exactly how practical the latter is, however, remains moot. Of the bike, the company admits: "This bicycle may not match the speed of light."
Last year a designer Alexander Amosu made a gold iPhone 6 coated in more than 6,000 diamonds for an anonymous customer. An Apple logo made from gold was fixed to its back and the price tag was £1.7m.
