WWE: Kurt Angle's return fight could happen 'near the end of the year'
Angle said he could take the physical test in the coming months to be eligible for the fight.
Kurt Angle has said that his role as WWE Monday Night Raw general manager "is going to last a little while" as the entertainment company does not want him to have his return fight until he passes the physical examination.
The WWE Hall Of Famer could take the physical test in the coming months as he has said that his return fight could happen by the end of this year. If everything goes well then the WWE Universe will get to see the Olympic gold medallist fight for the first time after leaving the company in 2006.
"I don't know about 'soon'. I think that the general manager role is going to last a little while. I don't think they want me to go any step further than that, but you do have to keep in mind that until I take the physical [no in-ring return will happen]." Angle told Wrestling Inc.
"I don't know when it's going to occur, but I'd say it'd most likely occur. But, I'd say probably near the end of the year is what I'm guessing and I really don't know."
Angle also said that he has let Triple H, the executive vice president of talent, WWE Creative and live events, know that he wants to fight and the latter has told him that he needs to "take a physical and you're going to have to pass". "'let's just take it one step at a time'," Hunter told Angle.
Angle also says the federation wants to see how he does and "see if I really am the person I say I am, that I've been staying clean for four years, that I've got my life together, that I have everything on track. It's a bit of a longer process, but you've got to earn back the trust."
