WWE polling fans on possible remasters of classic wrestling games like No Mercy
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is toying with the idea of remastering one of its classic games, and is currently polling fans on which games they'd most like to see get the remaster treatment - including Super Wrestlemania, WCW vs now Revenger and N64 classic No Mercy.
The poll also includes vehicular combat game WWE Crush Hour, NES game Wrestlemania Challenge, the Amiga's WWE European Rampage Tour, WWE Betrayal for GameBoy Colour, arcade game WWE WrestleFest and WCW Backstage Assault on the PlayStation. You can cast your vote here.
It won't come as a surprise that No Mercy is leading the way at the moment, albeit with just 755 votes cast at the time of writing. WCW vs now Revenge is sat in second place with the rest sharing between 2 and 7% of the vote.
No Mercy is widely regarded as the best wrestling game ever made, and is still a firm favourite today. Published by THQ, the game was released in 2000 toward the tail end of WWE's late 90s / early 00s heyday. It starred The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker and all the other major stars of that era – like Mr Ass.
Since THQ went bust the rights moved to 2K Games, who published the last two WWE games. You can read our review of the latest here.
If you hadn't already guessed, we voted for No Mercy. Everyone together now, dig dig diggity, dig diggity dog.
