Yemen bomb blast: Dozens killed in Sanaa Houthi mosque on first day of Eid al-Adha
No immediate claim of responsibility was made in the aftermath.
A twin bomb attack in Yemen's Houthi-held capital of Sanaa has killed at least 25 people and wounded dozens more during prayers for the Muslim festivity of Eid al-Adha - the feast of sacrifice. The blast took place at the crowded al-Balili mosque in Sanaa's al-Safya district on Thursday (24 September), according to doctors and witnesses.
Nobody immediately claimed responsibility for the attack but Sanaa and the al-Bilaili mosque have been targeted several times by Sunni jihadists of the Islamic State (Isis), which regard the Shi'ite Houthis as heretics.
