Vampire Diaries Actor Zach Roerig Seeks Sole Custody of Secret Daughter
Vampire Diaries actor Zach Roerig is seeking sole custody of his two-year-old daughter after her mother was jailed.
According to the legal documents filed in Georgia last month and obtained by celebrity gossip website TMZ, the 28-year-old actor has a daughter with a woman named Alanna Turner, born in January 2011.
Roerig is asking the court to change the current custody agreement so that he has full custody of their child. The actor who plays regular human Matt Donovan in the hit CW television show, is claiming that Turner, who has been arrested three times, is in Federal prison after pleading guilty to "various crimes". He is also reportedly asking for child support from Turner.
Roerig had previously shared relationship with Vampire Diaries co-star Candice Accola, who plays Caroline Forbes in the show. The two had kept their relationship away from the public eye.
In October 2011, Accola tweeted a photo of Roerig, writing, "Cheering on my man at his second paddle board race! He kicked some major a**."
Roerig also posted a photo of Accola wearing a bikini on the beach with "Go Zach!" written across her stomach.
"My number one cheerleader!" he wrote.
However, the pair split after a year of dating in June last year.
Roerig just wrapped up filming Sean McNamara's civil war film, Field of Lost Shoes, and is set to return to the Atlanta set of The Vampire Diaries to begin shooting the show's fifth season.
