Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards split: Singer 'smitten' with Indian Burberry model Neelam Gill

Zayn Malik has moved on his love life after splitting with Perrie Edwards. The former One Direction star had recently called off his engagement with the Little Mix singer.

According to Daily Mail, the 22-year-old singer is smitten with Indian model Neelam Gill, after meeting the 20-year-old model in London earlier this year. Gill, who was Burberry's first ever Indian model, is planning to fly to Los Angeles to spend a few days with Malik.

"Neelam doesn't know if she wants all of the drama that comes with dating someone in the public eye. She is going to LA to spend some time with Zayn and see how things go from there. She is serious about her career and doesn't want anything to get in the way of that, but she has hit it off with Zayn," a source said.

"Don't expect them to be spotted out in public together though, both are eager to keep their connection a secret for now," the insider added.

Malik and Edwards started dating in December 2011 after meeting on the set of The X Factor. The couple who got engaged in August 2013, were reportedly planning to get married at Disneyland Paris in June.

After five years with the group, Malik announced he quit the British boy band in March. One Direction fans had blamed Edwards for Malik's decision to quit the boyband. Meanwhile, in an interview with E!, Edwards was asked how she is doing after the split, to which she replied: "I'm good, thank you."
