Former One Direction singer Zayn Malik's younger sister Safaa tied the knot with her boyfriend, Martin Tiser on Monday. It was just three days after celebrating her 17th birthday. She is being criticised on social media for marrying too early.

Safaa got married in a traditional Nikah ceremony, an Islamic wedding, at her hometown Bradford in England. However, her famour singer brother was not present at the wedding, reports Mirror.

Zayn Malik's mother Trisha Malik took to her Instagram handle to share a series of pictures from the wedding, captioning it "My baby girls big day". The post was also liked by Gigi Hadid, Zayn's ex-girlfriend.

Groom Martin Tiser also shared some pictures from the wedding on his Twitter account.

Safaa herself shared a number of pictures on Twitter, along with a short clip of them exchanging rings, and also responded to the criticism by saying it was her choice.

"I've decided to say this because 1) if you think I am fake, feel free to unfollow 2) just because I'm 17 I can't make mature decisions now can I? it was my choice to keep the baby & it's my choice to get married. It shouldn't bother you guys. It's my decision not yours!," she tweeted.
