2012 Golden Globes: George Clooney, Meryl Streep Win Top Awards [SLIDESHOW]
George Clooney won the Best Actor Award (Dramatic category) for the film "The Descendants" at the 69<sup>th Golden Globe Awards. Meryl Streep won the Best Actor Award (Dramatic category) for the film "The Iron Lady".
Martin Scorsese won the Best Director for the film "Hugo" at the annual awards.
Best Actor (in Comedy) was won by French actor Jean Dujardin for his role in "The Artist".
Iranian film "A Separation," was picked for the best the Foreign Language Film.
The star-studded event in Beverly Hills, California, was hosted by British actor Ricky Gervais.
Hollywood's top actors, actress and directors were seen at the red carpet, including Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, Leonardo Caprio, and host of others. Jolie looked radiant in an Atelier Versace with a red fold across her chest.
The Golden Globe Award was instituted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 1944, recognising excellence in film and television. Both domestic and foreign films and television prgrammes are included.
