Adele's H&M card-decline trauma and other times the millionaire superstar proved how humble she is

Adele may have millions in the bank, but even she has money-related anxieties. The British powerhouse has recalled the embarrassing moment her card got declined as she attempted to make a purchase at high street favourite H&M.

The Mirror reports that she spilled the beans to fans at her concert in San Jose's SAP Center on 31 July . "I went to H&M and my card got declined. Oh my days, pretty embarrassing," she told the crowd, adding that her saving grace was that: "Nobody knew it was me, but I was mortified."

She was forced to cancel the transaction as her bank could not authorise payment for her affordable items.

Back in May, it was reported that the 28-year-old star splashed out a whopping $9.5m (£7.2m) on a mansion in LA County after signing a £90m deal with Sony, netting the biggest record deal in history.

But thanks to her lack of airs and graces, it is not hard to see why many people have warmed to the Someone Like You songstress.

Earlier this year Adele impressed fans with her rap skills when she belted out her rendition of Nicki Minaj's Monster verse during her Carpool Karaoke on The Late Late Show With James Corden. She won over the rap queen herself who took to social media to applaud the Hello singer's sterling effort.

Despite her own success, the mother-of- one isn't afraid to give credit to some of her favourite artists. In November she gushed about Lana Del Rey saying: " I love her very, very much. I've never met her though, but I just think she, she like stirs my soul."
