Allegiant part 1: On-set images from final Divergent series reveal Shailene Woodley's new look as Tris

Allegiant: Part 1, one of the final instalments of the Divergent series, is already under production and the movie's cast and crew are teasing fans with the first on-set images.

Ansel Elgort, who plays the character of Caleb, shared some on-set images on his Twitter account.

A collage of images shared on Twitter reveal more about Tris, Octavia Spencer's character Johanna and Zoe Kravitz's character Christina.

Woodley's hair has grown to chin length in the new pictures, which is different from her look in the last two movies of the blockbuster franchise.

Bill Collage, the movie's screen writer shared a post on his social media account and raved about the first shots by Shailene Woodley and Theo James (Four) as being "super".

Based on Veronica Roth's popular dystopian trilogy, the final movie from the blockbuster franchise will showcase Tris and her friend's journey as they explore the 'real world.'

However, Woodley, who plays Tris in the movie adaptation, has teased that the upcoming sequel could ditch the best-selling novel's storyline by introducing a shocking twist.

Allegiant picks up from where Insurgent left off as Tris, Four and the rest of the gang discover the truth about the world behind those city walls as they enter the Bureau of Genetic Welfare.

"Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton venture into the world outside of the fence and are taken into protective custody by a mysterious agency known as the Bureau of Genetic Welfare," the synopsis of Allegiant: Part 1 reads according to the IMDB page.

Divergent 3 is scheduled to premiere on 18 March 2016.
