Angelina Jolie seeks solace in formerly estranged dad Jon Voight during Brad Pitt divorce
Formerly estranged, Voight and Jolie reunited in 2010 with Brad Pitt's encouragement.
Angelina Jolie is reportedly seeking solace from her formerly estranged father Jon Voight during her difficult divorce with Brad Pitt.
According to an E! News report, the actor was spotted leaving a sushi restaurant in Beverly Hills on 10 May with Voight and four of her children – Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, and twins Vivienne and Knox. Jolie sported a long, black scoop neck dress for the family dinner date.
This comes after Voight told E! News at the King Arthur premiere earlier this week that "Angie's doing good" these days. Jolie and Pitt parted ways in September 2016 after two years of marriage and a 12-year relationship.
Previously, the 78-year-old actor gave an update on his daughter's divorce and admitted that he is "rooting" for the estranged couple to work things out.
Voight told US Weekly at the Hallmark party during the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in California, earlier in the year, "It's a difficult time, and I don't like to talk about it, but of course, I'm thankful for everybody's good wishes and prayers."
"And I hope things work out", the 78-year-old actor added. When asked about the former couple's custody agreement, the Midnight Cowboy actor told the news outlet, "I'm rooting for them. I don't want this thing to dissolve. I'm rooting for the kids. My heart is with everybody, and my daughter, certainly, and the children."
Jolie and Voight were estranged for years until 2010 and it was her then-partner Pitt who convinced her to reconcile with Voight. That year, she invited her father to meet her and her family in Venice, where she was filming
Voight told E! News at the time, "It was a wonderful trip. It was wonderful to be with the family and each of the kids is very special in their own way. And Brad and Angie are wonderful parents, so I had a great time."
