Anne Hathaway welcomes first child: Name of little boy revealed
Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway has become a mother for the first time. The 33-year-old star and her husband Adam Shulman welcomed a baby boy on March 24 in Los Angeles. Confirming the news in a statement Hathaway's representative told E! News: "The baby is extremely healthy and is surrounded by friends and family in L.A. Anne and Adam are ecstatic to be parents."
The news website adds that the couple, who tied the knot on the Californian coastline in September 2012, have snubbed the celebrity trend of peculiar monikers and chosen a traditional name for their new addition. Their baby boy is reportedly named Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman.
Hathaway and Shulman announced they were expecting in November 2015. Although she revealed scant details about her journey into motherhood, the brunette beauty did share a snap showing off her baby bump in a bikini at the beach. The viral image prompted scores of fans to speculate that she was expecting a boy.
She also let her hair down at the end of her pregnancy at a 'relaxed' baby shower with friends in March. Matthew McConaughey's wife Camila Alves was just one of the many pals at the do.
"Anne was one of the first people to arrive. She looked relaxed and happy to be there," an insider told the Daily Mail at the time. "There was a lot of chatter and laughter throughout the afternoon. Many times there was giggling and clapping because all of the ladies were having so much fun."
Another source added: "They seemed excited to get inside the party. At the end of the shower, they helped pack up all the gifts. He's been helping Anne shop a lot for the baby. They've been ordering a bunch online too. They are as happy as clams."
