Arrow star Colton Haynes joins Scarlett Johansson for R-rated bachelorette movie Rock That Body
Film will see a group of women travel to Miami for the 'do. However, things go wrong along the way.
Looks like Colton Haynes is lining up his next project after his confirmed stint on the second season of returning horror comedy series Scream Queens! The Arrow actor is looking to swap the small screen for the big one this time round, as he gears up to star alongside Scarlett Johansson in Rock That Body, a R-rated comedy from Sony Pictures.
Haynes took to Instagram posting a screenshot of an article which recently broke the news. "I'm so freakin excited for my next movie," he gushed to his five million followers. "This is an insane dream come true to work with such amazing people. What a beautiful yr it has been so far :)"
According to Deadline, the 28-year-old will also be joining the likes of Broad City's Ilana Glazer, Jillian Bell (The Angry Birds Movie), Mad Max: Fury Road's Zoë Kravitz, Parks And Recreation's Ty Burrell, Ghostbusters star Kate McKinnon and Demi Moore in the movie, which in The Hangover-esque fashion, will revolve around a group of women who travel to Miami for a bachelorette party. However, in true comedy movie fashion, things don't quite go to plan... and the male stripper winds up dead.
Directed by Lucia Aniello, the film is billed to reach UK and US cinemas on 23 June 2017.
While Haynes is best known for playing Roy Harper aka Arsenal in The CW superhero series Arrow, he also had a recurring role in supernatural show Teen Wolf during its first two seasons. He also appeared briefly in Dwayne Johnson's 2015 disaster epic San Andreas.
He most recently guest-starred on comedy series The Grinder opposite Rob Lowe and made headlines when he received the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) Visibility Award in Seattle on 27 August, after coming out as gay earlier this year. "I'm asked to play so many different roles as an actor but tonight I can actually be myself for the first time. It feels incredible," he stated during his acceptance speech. "I hope my example will give them the confidence and hope to be who they are as well."
