‘The Avengers’ Premiere is Star-Studded Event [PHOTOS]
"The Avengers" is a superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is directed by Joss Whedon and has a star cast of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlet Johansson, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L Jackson.
The film revolves around a time when the Earth is attacked by an alien force. A team of superhuman individuals - consisting of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Hulk - is assembled (the Avengers) to save the planet.
"The brain power is astonishing and he's always giggling about something. He has this intermittently generous and supportive side as a director but I also think as an artist he has a really dark sense of humour. He kept telling me how much fun he had writing Loki. He steps inside the villains in a way that he doesn't with the heroes," Tom Hiddleston, said to the Los Angeles Times, when asked about his experience working with Whedon
Incidentally, apparently the director's evil laughs are quite famous!
The whole crew had a wonderful time hearing his giggles and chuckles.
"Joss gets really excited, I love hearing him giggle from behind the monitor. It's almost like he's hiding behind his own giggles. He's lost a lot of weight during this film. There was one scene where Robert Downey Jr. has to fall to floor and we were trying to work out how to do the film and trying to work out how extreme it should be and Joss came over and said, 'I think it should be like this,' and he just hurled himself at the floor headfirst. I was like, 'Buddy, are you OK? We could pad you up before you do that!' But he went up in my estimation after that," Hiddleston explained.
"The Avengers" was planned after the success of "Iron Man" in 2008. The film premiered on 11 April and is scheduled for a 4 May release (2D and 3D) in the US. There will also be a video game, based on the film, to be released soon. There is no information, as yet, on the content of the game.
