Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes makes huge claim ahead of Ronda Rousey clash at UFC 207
Rousey and Nunes will face-off at UFC 207 on 30 December at Las Vegas.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes has revealed that she is very confident of beating Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) superstar Ronda Rousey at their UFC 207 bout in December.
President Dana White had confirmed that Ronda Rousey will return to the Octagon ring on 30 December and get a chance to reclaim her title when she faces Nunes at UFC 207. This news has made the Brazilian very happy. She claims she is "200%" sure of beating Rousey.
"I'm 100 percent going to beat Ronda Rousey. I'm 200 percent. I'm gonna enjoy every single day in this moment of my career. It's the moment I've been waiting for, fighting on the big cards like UFC 200. Like I said, I have to defend this belt. It's a huge show, a huge event", Nunes was quoted as saying by MMAFighting.
The 28-year-old who beat Miesha Tate at UFC 200 via a rear naked choke submission in the first round to win the title has a 13-4 win-loss MMA record and comes into this clash on the back of four consecutive victories.
The Brazilian has explosive power in her hands and knows that her opponent Rousey had issues dealing with Holm during her loss and hopes to use that to her advantage.
"I understand everything Ronda Rousey is gonna bring that day. I don't think she's gonna be able to deal with my striking. She's gonna be really surprised when I touch her, when I connect on my punches. I know how I'm gonna beat Ronda Rousey. I've been training for Ronda Rousey since my first fight in UFC."
"This fight is gonna change my life, my career. I hope she's ready. I know she's a very tough opponent, but I'm the best in the world", the bantamweight champion added.
The Rousey vs Nunes clash is scheduled to take place on 30 December, 2016 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
