Batman v Superman does not address any issue that fans had with Man Of Steel, says Henry Cavill
Will the upcoming superhero flick Batman v Superman give more weight to The Dark Knight as compared to the Man of Steel? Not necessarily. According to Henry Cavill, Superman will have "some very interesting character development" in Dawn Of Justice.
"I think maybe people may look down on some popular-culture stuff, but they're actually very complicated and interesting characters," Cavill told Cineplex while discussing his role in the eagerly-awaited DC film. "Superman especially, he's just wonderfully rich and one of those things, for me, that's just enjoyable to play. There's so far you can go with it; if you really, really delve deep into the character, there's so much you can do. It's just about exploring it within the vehicles and finding what you want to do. He's going to have some very interesting character development in this one."
Cavill also spoke about his first Superman movie — Man Of Steel — which received mixed reviews from both fans and critics. Addressing rumours that Batman v Superman may try to correct or justify some of the criticism Man Of Steel got, the actor said:
"There's no intentional move, I don't think, in Batman v. Superman to address any issues that people had with Man of Steel. It's just a continuation of that storyline and they continue to develop that world and introduce new characters."
Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Ben Affleck (as Batman), Henry Cavill (as Superman) and Gal Gadot (as Wonder Woman), Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice hits theatres on 25 March 2016.
