It's that time again: Children In Need returns for another epic night of fundraising tonight (18 November). The BBC's annual event is expected to be the best yet as stars team up with local communities and the general public for a good cause.

Viewers can expect a special tribute to the late Sir Terry Wogan following the death of the veteran host earlier this year, as well as sketches and cameos from the likes of Fantastic Beats And Where To Find Them's Eddie Redmayne and comedian Ricky Gervais.

Here is all you need to know about the telethon.

When is it on?

Now in its 36th year, the appeal show kicks off on 18 November (Friday) at 7.30pm on BBC One. Tune in to make sure you don't miss the star-studded TV bonanza.

How much was raised last year?

In 2015, a record-breaking £37,100,687 was donated. The on-the-night total surpassed the £32.6m raised the previous year.

What is the Sir Terry Wogan Fundraiser of the Year Award?

Launched in October, the award will recognise an individual, or individuals, who have shown creativity, fun and determination and inspired others while raising funds for the charity. The winner will be announced on the show.

Who is hosting?

While Wogan's shoes will be hard to fill, Graham Norton is hoping he can do the show justice as the main host.

"It is a huge privilege to join the presenting team for the Children In Need Appeal show," he said.

He will be supported throughout the night by presenters including Ade Adepitan, Greg James, Tess Daly and Marvin and Rochelle Humes, who have the honour of revealing the final total at the end of the night.

Daly, who co-presented with Sir Terry for several years, admitted it would be a bitter-sweet experience: "I know that we will all miss looking at his lovely face with that ever-present cheeky glint in his eye, and him constantly cracking jokes and never taking proceedings too seriously."

What is this year's Children In Need single?

Following his comeback earlier this year, Craig David's single All We Needed has been chosen as the this year's Children In Need single. He is expected to perform the ballad tonight. 50p from all sales of the song will go to Children in Need.

Performers?

Musical guests will include the likes of Little Mix and the cast of the West End musical Aladdin, while British Olympic stars Helen Glover, Hollie Webb, Joe Clarke and Lutalo Muhammad will take part in a Strictly Come Dancing special. Michael Bublé has also recorded a special performance for the show.
