Beauty essentials: How to get your feet holiday ready
As the weather finally begins to warm up it's time to get the sandals out. Dry callus feet are never a good look so here are the best products to keep your feet hydrated and looking young.
Removing your hard skin
If you need to get rid of cracked heels and dry skin on your feet and you're not in too much of a hurry try a product like Footner Exfoliating Socks. These socks are amazing as all you do is cut off the top of what looks like sock-shaped plastic bags and place your feet into the light solution of natural acids for 60 minutes. Don't be alarmed by the word acids, as this carefully balanced solution is extremely gentle and contains natural ingredients such as Mandelic Acid, Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid.
After the 60 minutes is up you may think this product hasn't even worked, but its only after around three to five days that the magic begins. All your dry skin peels off effortlessly with no cutting or scrubbing involved leaving you with baby soft, rejuvenated feet. This product is great to use a couple of weeks before a holiday or special event, and can be repeated every three months to keep dry skin at bay.
If you need smooth feet faster, try Scholl Pedi Velvet Smooth Electric Pedicure Foot File. It's quicker and easier than a manual foot file and acts like a gentle mini-sander for your feet. It works by buffing away hard skin instantly and the electronic head that is covered in micro-abrasive particles are covered in finely ground diamonds that whizz round doing all the hard work for you.
If manual exfoliation is more your thing, then go for something like the Tweezeman Pedro Smoothing Stone to buff dry patches away at your own convenience.
Moisturise
Once you have removed your dry skin, keeping them moisturised is really important as it will prevent future cracked heels. A good layer of thick emollient cream will help protect your tired feet. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Nourishing Foot Cream For Dry Or Damaged Feet is a fantastic product that immediately relieves your feet and is absorbed into the skin adding suppleness that lasts all day. This cream is rich in glycerin which attracts moisture to the feet.
Nails
Don't forget your nails, this goes for men and women. Keep your nails short and neat with a good pair of nail clippers, like the Profoot 360 Nail Clippers cutting straight across.
For those who have discoloured nails try Flexitol Nail Revitaliser. Applying this product twice a day will help remove discolouration, soften thickened nails and has Keratin to condition and restore nail quality.
If your nails are needing a little extra TLC but you also fancy finishing off your feet with a slick of paint, always use a good base coat to stop your nails from staining. Boots No7 Ridge filling Base Coat is perfect for your toes, as it not only fills the gaps and ridges on your nail beds but leaves you with a smoother and more professional looking application of colour.
Sunny head to toe
Go wild with colours on your toes and have some fun with it. Bright colours look pretty in sandals. I love Essie''s Splash of Grenadine, Rimmel's Summer Orange and Maybelline's Colour Show Jelly in Edgy Tangy.
